A few things to note: some junior runners who chose to run in a 'higher' age category than that for which they originally registered may still appear in the 'lower' category in the results due to their bib number – if the new race distance was not supplied when their times were uploaded. If your child is affected by this, just drop us a line at info@rungarioch.co.uk over the weekend and we will happily move your child to the correct category on Monday. All you need to provide us with is your child's bib number and the category or distance they actually ran. And in case anyone's wondering, the 'V' numbers in the results are just placeholders where bib numbers were not provided or matched in the system. They have no further meaning!

#gogreenforgarioch FACEBOOK PHOTO COMPETITION WINNERS!

After much deliberation – made even harder over Zoom and email – the RG Race Committee is delighted to announce the winners of our #gogoreenforgarioch photo competition.

• Best fancy dress: Ollie, who ran 1k every day in a variety of fantastic costumes to raise funds for Colony Park Football Club.

• Best ‘location’ shot taken in the AB51 area: Cameron Lorimer, for his lovely shot in amongst the greenery at Kellands Park.

• Best photo taken the furthest away from Inverurie: Katie Spence, who did her half marathon around the West Mainland of Orkney, with a snap of the ancient Standing Stones to prove it.

• Best photo taken outside an Inverurie business: Poppy Morrison, who dropped in at McLeish’s for an ice cream after her run.

• Best photo from a sports club, group or team: Turriff Running Club, who finished their 5k, 10k and half marathons in the company of the Turra Coo.

• Best photo at the Garioch Sports Centre: Corine Jack, for her before and after shots at the GSC.

• Best photo from a CP&Co. Junior Runner: This one was tricky, as we didn’t have any photos submitted specifically *from* a junior runner. So, we chose our favourite picture of junior runners instead: Rebecca Duncan’s shot of her kids on the GSC track.

• Best photo from a family: The Austin family at the GSC backdrop. Mum Jeanette and dad Paul did the 10k; their daughter Ellen did the 5k, and then carried on to complete the 10k as well!

Honourable mention goes to Colony Park Football Club, whose players and coaches pounded the pavements and fields in their dozens to complete their runs and raise funds for the club – with dozens of photos to prove it.

In recognition of their efforts, Run Garioch will be making a cash donation on their behalf to the charity of their choice.
