Specsavers 10K
Introduction
The 2012 10K course is the same as last year's. It takes runners through the streets of Inverurie, out towards the countryside at Polinar Dam, and back into Inverurie before finishing at the Garioch Sports Centre under the Run4It gantry.
It is a challenging but rewarding 10K suitable for all abilities.
New for 2012
BUSINESS CHALLENGE
With Run Garioch 2012 just a few months away, we’d like to invite you and your colleagues to take part in our first annual Business Challenge.
For the first time, runners will be able to enter the Specsavers 10K as a team from their workplace, club or charity and compete for one of our team prizes – including one for the fastest local (AB51) business.
Teams must be of four members, mixed or single-sex, and only the quickest three times count. Team names must be given on the entry form, and you are welcome to enter more than one (as Specsavers A and Specsavers B, for instance) for some friendly office rivalry!
Promote your business and stand out from your competitors by running the race in your own branded t-shirts, workwear, uniforms or fancy dress. Your team can also run the race to raise money for your company's favourite charity through sponsorship. Putting together a business team for the first time also makes a great bit of news for your company’s website or promotional campaigns; we will feature our business runners in our press and promotions too
The Start
The Specsavers 10K starts at 11:00 on Sunday 18th March 2012
- 9:00-10:45 Registration (or pick up your pack at the Garioch Sports Centre from the Thursday before)
- 10:45 Line up
- 10:50 Warm up
- 11:00 Race start
Please ensure you arrive in good time to deposit your baggage and prepare for the start. The start is operated by time bands - the fastest to the front, and the slowest to the back. Placards with expected finishing times will be clearly displayed. For example, if you expect to run the race in 50 minutes then look for the placard that says "50 mins" and line up behind it.
